Baby iguanas were seen fleeing a terrifying army of racer snakes in 'horror' footage as Planet Earth II returned to our screens last night.
The dramatic footage terrified thousands of viewers who tuned in to see the long-awaited return of the BBC documentary hosted by David Attenborough.
The clip filmed on Fernandina Island, in the Galápagos Islands, was labelled "the stuff of nightmares" by viewers as they took to Twitter in disbelief at what they'd seen.
As the newborn iguanas emerged from under the sand dozens of the deadly predators slithered after them.

While a few managed to scurry away, others were not so lucky as the serpents caught them in their jaws.
They then wrapped their bodies around the petrified babies before crushing them to death with a sickening crunch.
When the crew saw the snakes for the first time, they were too shocked to film - and host Sir David had never seen anything like it either - it was claimed.
And it seems viewers that tuned in were equally horrified - comparing it to a scene from a film.
